HC Deb 13 May 1968 vol 764 cc857-8
38. Sir H. Harrison

asked the Lord Privy Seal what rent is paid by Messrs. Thomas Cook for the use of a room on the interview floor for business purposes.

Mr. Peart

None, Sir.

Sir H. Harrison

In view of that rather extraordinary reply, that a commercial enterprise is paying no rent, may I ask whether the right hon. Gentleman would consider putting out to tender amongst travel agents this right to supply Members?

Mr. Peart

I hope that hon. Members will reflect on their prejudices here. Messrs. Thomas Cook have provided a tremendous service for Members over the years, and there are other organisations. I hope that hon. Members will be very careful before they press me too much on this.
