asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the progress of minelaying techniques in the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force.

It is not the practice to give detailed operational information of this kind.

Can the Minister confirm that the Navy and Royal Air Force air-craft are capable of carrying on a technique for laying mines and that they are fitted to do so?
