§ 17. Mr. Maurice Macmillanasked the Minister of Health when the official inquiry which was started after the publication of "Sans Everything" is expected to be completed; and whether he will publish a full report.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonCommittees of inquiry have been appointed by the hospital boards concerned; the inquiries are at various stages of progress, and I cannot yet say when they will be completed. The findings and recommendations will be published.
§ Mr. MacmillanMay I ask the Minister to expedite this as fast as possible? There have been various reports in the Press recently, and I am sure that we are all concerned that any disquiet still existing should be allayed as quickly as can be.
§ Mr. RobinsonOne committee has submitted a report to the Board which appointed it, but has not yet summarised its findings and recommendations. No other reports have yet been received.
§ Mr. WhitakerCould my right hon. Friend say whether the request for legal assistance by the witnesses at one of the inquiries, details of which have been sent to him, has now been granted?
§ Mr. RobinsonI am not quite sure of the answer but this is a matter for the chairman of the inquiry concerned.
