§ 36. Mr. John Pageasked the Minister of Health what are his proposals for the short and long-term accommodation of the Harrow Chest Clinic, in view of the present uncertainty about the future now experienced by patients and staff alike.
§ Mr. SnowThe regional hospital board will make proposals to my right hon. Friend when these are necessary.
§ Mr. PageIs the Minister aware that the chest clinic at Harrow has been under notice to move for a long period and that the staff and patients are very worried about the future? Will he make a statement as soon as possible?
§ Mr. SnowI agree that such anxiety is undesirable. The trouble is that the Regional Hospital Board is awaiting information about the date when the site will be required. I should also mention that in 1960 the Standing Tuberculosis Advisory Committee recommended that chest clinics should be brought within the ambit of a general hospital.
