HC Deb 19 March 1968 vol 761 c223
36. Mr. John Page

asked the Minister of Health what are his proposals for the short and long-term accommodation of the Harrow Chest Clinic, in view of the present uncertainty about the future now experienced by patients and staff alike.

Mr. Snow

The regional hospital board will make proposals to my right hon. Friend when these are necessary.

Mr. Page

Is the Minister aware that the chest clinic at Harrow has been under notice to move for a long period and that the staff and patients are very worried about the future? Will he make a statement as soon as possible?

Mr. Snow

I agree that such anxiety is undesirable. The trouble is that the Regional Hospital Board is awaiting information about the date when the site will be required. I should also mention that in 1960 the Standing Tuberculosis Advisory Committee recommended that chest clinics should be brought within the ambit of a general hospital.
