HC Deb 24 June 1968 vol 767 cc211-2

Lords Amendment No. 59: In line 8, at end insert"and other public paths."

Mr. Skeffington

I beg to move, That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment.

Earlier this evening I referred to certain categories of unopposed Orders which, under the Bill, it will be competent for the local authorities to decide without coming to Whitehall. Certain consequential Amendments must be made, because there is one definition of path— a public right of way not being a right enjoyable by vehicular traffic"— which is not clearly within the Long Title. The Amendment corrects that omission.

Question put and agreed to.

Committee appointed to draw up Reasons to be assigned to the Lords for disagreeing to certain of their Amendments to the Bill: Mr. Channon, Mr. David Gibson-Watt, Mr. Niall MacDermot, Mr. Arthur Skeffington, and Mrs. Eirene White; Three to be the quorum.—[Mr. MacDermot.]

To withdraw immediately.

ADJOURNMENT

Resolved, That this House do now adjourn.—[Mr. Ernest G. Perry.]

Adjourned accordingly at twenty-nine minutes past Eleven o'clock.
