HC Deb 18 July 1968 vol 768 c1659
40. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will indicate the cost of the special security precautions to be taken on the occasion of the Investiture of the Prince of Wales.

The Secretary of State for Wales (Mr. George Thomas)

No, Sir.

Mr. Hamilton

Why not? Is not my right hon. Friend aware that a good many of us are really concerned for the safety of the Prince, in view of the violence demonstrated by a minority in Wales in recent weeks?

Mr. Thomas

My hon. Friend need not be worried. The overwhelming proportion of the Welsh people will see that the Prince is all right. I regret that I cannot go into the financial details.
