§ Mr. Deputy Speaker (Sir Eric Fletcher)It might be convenient to the House to consider, at the same time, Amendments Nos. 2 and 12, the new Clause "A", and Amendment No. 13.
§ Mr. BuchanThe combined effect of the Amendments is to ensure that any work carried out under the Bill by any person will comply with the requirements of the Coast Protection Act, 1949. The words which we propose to delete would require the consent of the Board of Trade, and these references are to be superseded by this new Clause, which is of course the common form for this kind of provision. The new Clause will also repair an omission by applying the relevant provisions of the Coast Protection Act to any works done under the Bill which might interfere with navigation.
