Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to enable effect to be given to international arrangements for the making of contributions and other payments to the International Development Association, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (1) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament—
    1. (a) of sums required for making payments to the Association on behalf of Her Majesty's Government in accordance with any arrangements made by the Board of Governors, or with members, of the Association, and for redeeming any notes or other obligations issued to the Association in accordance with any such arrangements;
    2. (b) of sums required for making contributions to the capital stock of any international regional development bank on behalf of Her Majesty's Government in accordance with any international agreement or other arrangements and for redeeming any notes or other obligations issued to any such bank in accordance with any such arrangements;
    3. (c) of sums (not exceeding in the aggregate £5,000,000 or such greater amount as may be specified in an order made by the Minister of Overseas Development with the approval of the Treasury) which may be required for making payments on behalf of Her Majesty's Government in fulfilment of any undertaking given in pursuance of the Asian Development Bank Agreement that they will be responsible for obligations under the agreement of any country or other territory for whose external relations they are responsible;
    4. (d) of any sums required by that Minister for paying the whole or a proportion of any 1267 contribution payable by virtue of the said Act of the present Session by a participant in the Overseas Service Pensions Scheme established under section 7 of the Overseas Aid Act 1966 to the Overseas Service Pensions Fund so established.
  2. (2) The payment into the Consolidated Fund of sums received by Her Majesty's Government—
    1. (a) in pursuance of any agreement or arrangements mentioned in paragraph (l)(a) or (b) above; or
    2. (b) in repayment of any payment mentioned in paragraph (1)(a) above.—[Mr. Prentice.]
