§ 32. Mr. Dodds-Parkerasked the Postmaster-General what proposals he has for making available, and popularising, public telex facilities in Cheltenham and other such centres.
§ Mr. Edward ShortAlthough they have been publicised, little use has been made of the public telex facilities in London, Manchester, Liverpool and Belfast. In view of this, I should not be justified in providing additional telex call offices at present.
§ Mr. Dodds-ParkerWould the Postmaster-General consider making facilities available for the public, in publicly-owned organisations such as Thomas Cook and also in certain hotel chains, at a special rate?
§ Mr. ShortYes, a good deal is being done at the moment. Perhaps the hon. Gentleman would like to discuss this with me. I am only too anxious to extend the telex network as widely as possible.
