HC Deb 28 February 1968 vol 759 c1663

Question proposed,That the Clause stand part of the Bill.

Mr. David Steel

I should like the Home Secretary to reaffirm something which he said earlier—it may have been yesterday, but I am beginning to lose track of time. He said that the Bill would come under the Expiring Laws Continuance Act. Can he confirm that, and can he say when the House will next have an opportunity to debate these matters?

Mr. Callaghan

When the Bill becomes law, it will become part of the main Commonwealth Immigrants Act, which comes under the Expiring Laws Continuance Act which is debated in November of each year.

Question put and agreed to.

Clause ordered to stand part of the Bill.
