Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make further provision with respect to the welfare of livestock and to make provision for other purposes, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of—

  1. (1) any increase in the payments out of such moneys which is attribuatble to provisions of the said Act providing for the extension of the functions of agricultural wages committees established in pursuance of the Agricultural Wages Act 1948 or the Agricultural Wages (Scotland) Act 1949;
  2. (2) any expenditure incurred by any Minister or government department (other that the Postmaster General) in making payments to assist in the reorganisation of the affairs of a tenant of an agricultural holding in cases where the Minister or department acquire the tenant's interest in, or take possession of, the holding or part of it in exercise of compulsory powers;
  3. (3) any exenditure incurred by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in making to a river authority grants in respect of works executed by the authority in pursuance of section 35 of the Land Drainage Act 1961.—[Mr. Peart.]
