§ 20. Mr. Leadbitterasked the Minister of Public Building and Works if he will take steps to integrate and recite the various buildings used by the department of Social Services, the Department of Employment and Productivity and Her Majesty's Inspector of Taxes at Hartlepool, having regard to the comprehensive central area redevelopment in the town and the need to reduce the inconvenience to the public and to improve conditions for the staffs of the present offices.
§ Mr. MellishMy Ministry is planning to erect a new building on a site in Surtees Street, to provide an integrated local 1227 office for the Department of Health and Social Security. The Department of Employment and Productivity and the Inland Revenue Tax Office are already accommodated in a satisfactory Crown Building near the proposed Civic Centre.
§ Mr. LeadbitterDoes my right hon. Friend realise that I appreciate his cooperation, and that of his officers? In view of the amalgamation of the Hartlepools and redistribution of boundaries, will my right hon. Friend make available to me an opportunity for another discussion, so that the fullest amount of integration, which I am sure he desires, may be carried out in the end?
§ Mr. MellishI shall be prepared to see my hon. Friend at any time on any subject.
