§ Mr. BuchanI beg to move Amendment No. 66, in page 24, line 31, leave out from 'thereof' to 'on' and insert 'they may'.
§ Mr. BuchanThe Amendment very much simplifies the drafting by substituting "they may" for the words "it 1500 shall be competent for them to". I am indebted for the suggestion to my right hon. Friend the Member for Edinburgh, East (Mr. Willis), who raised the matter in Committee with a sharp, shrewd and correct piece of drafting which I am glad to accept.
§ Mr. WillisI must express my gratitude to my hon. Friend. This ensures the insertion of a little gem, a piece of beautiful English in the midst of a welter of legal verbiage. Whether anyone will discover it, I do not know.
§ Amendment agreed to.
§ Further Amendment made: No. 67, in page 24, line 32, leave out second 'to'.[Mr. Ross.]
