§ Lords Amendment No. 3: In page 4, line 5, after first "minerals" insert "comprised in the tenancy".
§ 6.15 p.m.
§ Mr. SkeffingtonI beg to move, That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment.
This is really not more than a drafting Amendment. It is designed to ensure that in any reference to minerals the rights of a leaseholder under the Bill are confined to what is in the lease. I think this probably was the position before, but the insertion after the first "minerals" in line 5 of the words "comprised in the tenancy" makes it absolutely clear that if minerals are not in the agreement, even though they may be under the property, there is no question of the tenant acquiring any rights or any of the legal obligations which flow from that. I am 1556 sure the House will be glad to accept the Amendment.
§ Question put and agreed to.
