HC Deb 30 November 1967 vol 755 c638
Q5. Mr. Winnick

asked the Prime Minister if he will make public the substance of the consultations he has had with President Johnson over the bombing of North Vietnam.

The Prime Minister

No, Sir.

Mr. Winnick

Can the Prime Minister tell the House what representations and protests have been made to the Americans over their use of anti-personnel bombs in their bombing raids in North Vietnam? Is he aware that horror is widely felt by very many people at the terror bombing of civilians by the Americans over North Vietnam?

The Prime Minister

I have dealt with this question on previous occasions. I have nothing to add to what I have said about what communications have passed between President Johnson and myself. As the House knows, all of us deplore all the killing in this terrible war—all the killing that goes on—and that is why we all want to get the parties round the conference table.
