§ Mr. LoveysWill the right hon. Gentleman now extend the grant aid to all local authorities affected by oil pollution in the future so as not to repeat the anomalies and unfairness which are inevitable if grants are given for one incident and not others?
§ Mr. GreenwoodWe have already submitted proposals for improving the situation to the local authority associations, and are in discussion with them. The general idea is that we should make county councils and county boroughs responsible, but that would need legislation. However, we have the point very much in mind.
