Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make provision with respect to the maximum numbers of Lords of Appeal in Ordinary and certain other judges, it is expedient to authorise any increase in the sums payable under any enactment out of the Consolidated Fund or out of moneys provided by Parliament which is attributable to any provision of that Act— (a) increasing the maximum number of Lords of Appeal in Ordinary, or of ordinary judges of the Court of Appeal, puisne judges of the High Court or county court judges in England and Wales, or of judges of the Court of Session in Scotland, or of puisne judges of the High Court in Northern Ireland; or (b) authorising Her Majesty by Order in Council from time to time to increase or further increase the maximum number of appointments which may be made to any of the offices mentioned in paragraph (a) above.—[Mr. Harold Lever.]
