asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what action he is taking on the recommendations of the Bland Committee on Invisible Exports.

Mr. Callaghan

The Committee's conclusions and recommendations are being carefully considered.

Mr. Turton

Does not the Report show up the inadequacies of the Reddaway Report? Will the right hon. Gentleman now reconsider Selective Employment Tax, in particular, in the light of the Bland Committee's recommendations?

Mr. Callaghan

No, Sir. I do not want to set Bland against Reddaway in any form. The British National Export Council will no doubt, consider the Report because it was addressed to the Council, and I shall certainly look into any recommendations it makes to me. We had better give it some time to look at the proposals it wants to put forward.
