21. Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what further changes he is instituting in the organisation of his Department.

Mr. Healey

I keep the organisation of the Ministry of Defence, which continues to evolve, under regular review. When I decide that any further major changes are needed, I shall, of course, inform the House.

Mr. Digby

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that these rumours have a very unsettling effect and result in a loss of confidence in the Service? If he intends to make any changes, will he announce them as soon as possible?

Mr. Healey

Yes, Sir.

Will the right hon. Gentleman recognise that he has the support of many hon. Members in the excellent work which his Ministry is doing to push forward the Polaris submarine programme and in the work being done on improved warheads?
