HC Deb 09 May 1967 vol 746 c1266
24. Mr. Edward M. Taylor

asked the Minister of Power how many official visits he has made to Scotland since his appointment.

Mr. Marsh

I shall be making my second visit later this month. My Parliamentary Secretaries have made four visits.

Mr. Taylor

As membership of the European Coal and Steel Community must inevitably lead to savage pit closures in Scotland, which can severely damage Scottish steel production, would it not be appropriate for the Minister to come to Scotland to say precisely where we are going?

Mr. Marsh

I have just told the hon. Gentleman. I thought he was listening to the Answer. I am going later this month.
