HC Deb 09 March 1967 vol 742 c1745
34. Sir C. Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will arrange that, if an extension at Scotland Yard is engaged, facilities are provided for messages to be left for urgent delivery at a central message office.

Mr. Taverne

Present instructions are that, where an extension is engaged and there is no suitable alternative extension in the same department, any caller who wishes to leave an urgent message is connected to an officer who has been specially designated for this purpose.
