§ Mrs. CastleThere has been a significant increase in the actual numbers of injury accidents on the stretches of road where these experimental lines have been laid. Taking the eight sites in England together, the number of accidents involving injury has been 17 per cent. higher than would have been expected had the lines not been laid, judging from experience on other comparable roads. 1517 I have, therefore, decided to abandon the experiment and have given instructions for the lines to be removed.
