On on point of order, Mr. Speaker. As you are aware, I endeavoured to raise a Question by Private Notice on the—

Order. It is not in order for an hon. Member for raise the subject matter of a Private Notice Question which has been refused.

Sir B. Janner

I appreciate your Ruling on the matter, Sir. With respect, I had not intended to do that. But as the United Nations is meeting today, I would like you to tell me when the question of how the Government are to vote on the matter can be raised.

Mr. Speaker

Order. The hon. Gentleman is doing exactly what I forbade him to do. He cannot raise as a matter of order the substance of a Private Notice Question which has been refused.

I appreciate that Mr. Speaker. I wish in no way to contest your Ruling, but I hope that you tell me how and when, if at all possible, this extremely urgent matter can be raised.

Mr. Speaker

That is a matter about which the hon. Gentleman must consult his own political leaders. It is not a matter for the Chair.
