§ 10. Mr. John Hallasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he has now received the comments of interested organisations on the recommendations of the Food Additives and 1699 Contaminants Committee that statutory limits should be placed on the amount of residues of aldrin and dieldrin in foods; and what action he proposes to take.
§ Mr. HoyYes, Sir; these are now being considered. My right hon. Friend will announce the action he proposes to take in due course.
§ Mr. HallWhat does "in due course" mean? This is an important matter and many people are anxiously awaiting a final decision.
§ Mr. HoyIt does not mean tomorrow. My right hon. Friend has said that this is an important matter. We appreciate how important it is and the number of people who are waiting, but at the same time this is a subject which must have very careful consideration.
