§ Mr. JuddWould not my hon. Friend agree that the employment of these people is one of the best ways of promoting interracial understanding and that the opportunities should be increased in every possible way? Will the Department do everything possible to encourage recruitment in this respect?
§ Mr. RobertsCertainly, but certain difficulties arise. In particular, immigrant teachers sometimes do not have a sufficient command of English or are not familiar with modern teaching methods. We have sponsored four four-term courses which are intended to help these teachers to overcome these difficulties.
