§ 45. Mr. Moonmanasked the Lord President of the Council whether he will seek to arrange for lighting and ventilation specialists to examine the conditions in which hon. Members work in the Cloisters.
§ Mr. CrossmanI am aware that the lighting and ventilation of the Cloisters is not good, and I am asking my right hon. Friend the Minister of Public Building and Works to make a thorough examination and to make what improvements he can during the Summer Recess.
§ Mr. MoonmanI think that we shall all welcome that statement. Would my right hon. Friend appreciate, in his efforts to modernise Parliament, the need to 53 make a more effective use of this building, and, in particular, in relation to the 12 or so lost souls in the Cloisters?
§ Mr. CrossmanI accept that point.
