§ Mr. JayI beg to move Amendment No. 298, in page 117, line 7, Schedule 4, at the end to insert:
Section 449 … Power to enforce orders.Section 449 of the 1948 Act, as I am sure you will be aware, Mr. Deputy Speaker, states that orders made by the High Court under that Act may be enforced in the same manner as orders made in an action pending therein. The Amendment adds Section 449 to Schedule 4. The effect of this is that in a case where a company refuses to allow an inspection of the register required under the Section, the court may by order compel an immediate inspection, and where there is a failure to send, within the proper period, a copy required under the Section, the court may by order direct that the copy shall be sent.
§ Amendment agreed to.
