HC Deb 28 February 1967 vol 742 cc251-2
22. Sir H. Legge-Bourke

asked the Minister of Technology what technical advice he has given to the Central Electricity Generating Board regarding the suitability of nuclear reactors for Hinkley B generating station.

Mr. Benn

None, Sir. Decisions about reactor design for their nuclear power stations are a matter for the generating boards after consultation with the suppliers. The Atomic Energy Authority is always available to give advice.

Sir H. Legge-Bourke

Will the right hon. Gentleman give an assurance that we shall at least have the same sort of technical information in respect of Hinkley B as we had in the case of the Dungeness B reactor?

Mr. Benn

I shall look at the information which was made available previously. On the face of it, I can see no reason why there should be any difference.
