Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to amend the law relating to the proceedings of criminal courts, it is expedient to authorize—

  1. (a) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of sums required by the Treasury for making payments of compensation to holders of rights granted by the Crown and extinguished by that Act to fines or sums due under forfeited recognisances;
  2. (b) the payment into the Exchequer of sums which apart from the extinguishment of those rights would have been paid to the holders thereof.—Mr. Roy Jenkins.]
