§ Mr. Goronwy RobertsPayment of grants to overseas students is not my right hon. Friend's responsibility. If my hon. Friend has in mind the special arrangements arising out of the increase of fees I would ask him to await the reply which my right hon. Friend will be giving later this afternoon.
§ Mr. MilneI am grateful for that reply. Will my hon. Friend consider grants on the basis not only of encouraging overseas students to use British universities, but also encouraging them to use the universities in their own countries as well?
§ Mr. RobertsThe long-term situation, including the very important points made by my hon. Friend, is being kept separately under review. My right hon. Friend will have a statement to make about grants in the transitional period.
