Queen's Recommendation having been signified

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make further provision for the protection and improvement of buildings of architectural or historic interest, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (a) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any increase in the payments falling to be made out of such moneys which is attributable to provisions of that Act—
    1. (i) providing that the power conferred by subsection (1) of section 4 of the Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments Act 1953 to make grants for the purposes mentioned in that subsection shall include power to make loans for those purposes;
    2. (ii) applying to Scotland any of the provisions of the Local Authorities (Historic Buildings) Act 1962;

  2. (b) the payment into the Exchequer of any sums received by a Minister of the Crown by way of interest on or repayment of such loans as are mentioned in paragraph (i) above.—[Mr. MacDermot.]
