HC Deb 06 April 1967 vol 744 c424
7. Mr. Hugh Fraser

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will make a statement concerning a fraudulent conversion by a Post Office employee of moneys officially deducted from pay slips, which has led to the freezing since 27th August last of all payment from the National Savings holiday club funds at Stafford Head Post Office, into which some £6,000 had been paid; and if he will state his proposals for restitution to those robbed.

The Postmaster-General (Mr. Edward Short)

A joint investigation by the Union of Post Office Workers and the Post Office has revealed that when all the loans have been repaid to the club there will be sufficient funds to meet all known commitments.
