HC Deb 31 October 1966 vol 735 c5
6. Mr. Holland

asked the Minister of Labour what steps have so far been taken to implement the proposals contained in the Report on the Appointed Factory Doctor Service by a Sub-Committee of the Industrial Health Advisory Committee published in April, 1966.

Mrs. Shirley Williams

Interested bodies were invited to comment on the Report. The majority of replies have now been received. The views expressed will be taken into account in considering the recommendations.

Mr. Holland

Will not the hon. Lady agree that there were some very important proposals arising from this Sub Committee and that they should be implemented as quickly as possible? Can she give us some idea how soon they will be?

Mrs. Williams

The hon. Member will appreciate that there are a number of bodies which are anxious to have their views considered carefully. We are awaiting those views still, and discussions will take place as soon as they all come in.
