§ 9. Mr. Mikardo
asked the President of the Board of Trade whether there is any cost to the public revenues arising out of the acquisition by the British Overseas Airways Corporation of the shares held by Fortes (Holdings) Limited in Bofort Limited.

§ Mr. Mason
No, Sir. The cost will be met from B.O.A.C.'s internal resources.

§ Mr. Mikardo
While thanking my hon. Friend for that gratifying Answer, may I ask whether he is aware that the dissolution of this unseemly marriage between B.O.A.C. and Fortes gives great satisfaction to those of us on this side who pressed that it should never take place and were told by the Government for their pains that they were talking nonsense?
