Mr. ShortThe extension of the coverage attained by its services is primarily the responsibility of the Independent Television Authority. It has told me that in deciding on any further extension, it will take into account the claims of Chagford along with those of other localities.
§ Mr. MillsCan the Postmaster-General tell me what would be the cost of a small relay or booster station in this area, which would overcome the problem? Will he also bear in mind that there are still too many pockets in the South-West where I.T.A. programmes cannot be received?
Mr. ShortI could not say what the cost would be, but I have discussed this matter with Lord Hill and the Authority has promised to look into it.
