HC Deb 30 November 1966 vol 737 c449
37. Mr. Winnick

asked the Lord President of the Council what progress he has made in his consideration of proposals for changing the practice of summoning the Commons to hear the Royal Assent to Bills.

Mr. Crossman

I would ask my hon. Friend to await the debate on procedure, when I hope to make a statement.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

Would the right hon. Gentleman consider the possibility of meeting at perhaps 2.15 p.m. from time to time so that, after Prayers, this ceremony, to which some of us attach importance, could take place without interfering with the other business of the House?

Mr. Crossman

I will certainly consider that suggestion.
