HC Deb 24 November 1966 vol 736 cc1587-8
Q10. Mr. Dodds-Parker

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the growing world food shortage, he will take the initiative to call a Commonwealth Agricultural and Food Conference.

The Prime Minister

The whole House, I know, shares the hon. Member's concern about the world food problem but, since the problem is already being vigorously tackled on a fully international basis by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations and by a number of other international bodies, I do not think that a special conference, whether on a Commonwealth or world basis, would help.
