18. Mr. Luard

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will make arrangements for a 75 per cent. Government contribution for the proposed traffic survey for the Oxford inner relief road.

Mr. Crossman

The city Council has been told that a 75 per cent. contribution will be paid.

Mr. Luard

I thank the right hon. Gentleman for that reply and welcome it, but will he give an assurance that this survey is undertaken with the least amount of delay?

Mr. Crossman

Certainly. It is in the interests of all concerned to get a decision on this lamentably protracted issue.
