Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make further provision for the payment of grants to the British Railways Board and the British Waterways Board on account of deficits on revenue account down to the end of the year 1968 and to authorise the payment of such grants to the London Transport Board, it is expedient to authorise any such increase in the sums which, under the Transport Act 1962, are authorised or required to be paid out of moneys provided by Parliament, issued out of the Con- solidated Fund, raised by borrowing, or paid into the Exchequer as may be attributable to provisions of the said Act of the present Session—

  1. (a)extending by one year the period of five years referred to in sections 22 and 23 of the said Act of 1962 (grants and loans to the said Railways Board and Waterways Board to meet deficits on revenue account arising during that period);
  2. (b)raising from £450 million to £800 million the aggregate limit imposed by the said section 22 in respect of grants or loans to meet such deficits of the British Railways Board;
  3. (c)making corresponding provision in respect of deficits on revenue account incurred by the London Transport Board, subject to an aggregate limit of £16 million.—[Mr. J. Morris.]
