asked the Minister of Public Building and Works what sum was expended on office equipment for the Paymaster-General's Department for 1963–64, 1964–65 and 1965–66.

Mr. C. Pannell

The work of the Paymaster-General's Department covers banking and pension services. The expenditure figures on office equipment and furnishing in this context are £27,117 in 1963–64, £37,213 in 1964–65, and £31,302 in 1965–66 so far.

Are we to understand that there is another context? Has there been any significant increase in the expenditure on tape recorders and listening devices—
