HC Deb 15 June 1966 vol 729 c1430
3. Mr. Buchanan-Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to assist major improvements on the A94, Stonehaven to Perth road.

Mr. Ross

I have provisionally approved proposals by the county councils of Kincardine, Angus and Perth and Kinross, estimated to cost £370,000 and requiring £278,000 in grant, for improvements on the A94 between Stonehaven and Perth during the next three years.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith

Would not the right hon. Gentleman agree that this road is the major link between the North-East and other parts of Scotland? Will he please promise to do all he can to assist the improvements to be made as early as possible?

Mr. Ross

We are doing that.

Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

Can the right hon. Gentleman give any indication of when it can be hoped that this road will be trunked?

Mr. Ross

If the hon. Gentleman will put down that question, I shall be glad to answer it.
