HC Deb 28 July 1966 vol 732 cc1883-4
32. Mr. John Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when his Department will leave Curzon Street House.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

In 1968.

Mr. Smith

Does the hon. Gentleman agree that, although we certainly do not wish to hamper the work of such a vital Department, it will be helpful to return this and other Government-occupied buildings in Central London to the purposes for which they were built, and that such dispersal of Government offices, does help the economy?

Mr. Roberts

The new accommodation will certainly bring together many parts of the Department, at present inconveniently and uneconomically scattered in a number of offices in Central London.
