§ 43. Mr. Peter Millsasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will now give his decision on the proposed Meldon Dam at Okehampton.
§ Mr. CrossmanI have decided to allow the North Devon Water Board to carry out this scheme subject to certain modifications. The letter conveying my decision was sent yesterday.
§ Mr. MillsWhile thanking the Minister for this decision, which I am sure will be very welcome in that part of the world, may I ask him whether he will give every help and facility to the North Devon Water Board to get on with the task of supplying water in this area?
§ Mr. CrossmanYes. I am aware that the delay in making a decision was unduly long and we will certainly give all the help we can to implement it as fast as possible.
§ 44. Mr. Peter Millsasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many representations, and from whom, he has had about planning for the proposed Meldon Dam at Okehampton.
§ Mr. CrossmanThere were 26 objectors to the planning application for the Meldon scheme. I will let the hon. Member have a list of them.
