HC Deb 14 December 1966 vol 738 c617

10.27 p.m.

Mr. Michael Clark Hutchison (Edinburgh, South)

I beg to move, That the Loch Lomond Water Board Order 1966, a copy of which was laid before this House on 21st October, be annulled. This is part of a curious procedure to enable the Petition of the Edinburgh Corporation and the Midlothian County Council to be heard before a Joint Committee of both Houses of Parliament.

Amendment proposed: In line 1, leave out from 'the' to end and add: 'Petition for Amendment of Edinburgh Corporation and Midlothian County Council against the Loch Lomond Water Board Order 1966 be referred to a Joint Committee of both Houses'.—[Mr. Eadie.]

The Under-Secretary of State for Scotland (Dr. J. Dickson Mabon)

I advise the House to accept the Amendment.

Amendment agreed to.

Main Question, as amended, agreed to.

Ordered, That the Petition for Amendment of Edinburgh Corporation and Midlothian County Council against the Loch Lomond Water Board Order 1966 be referred to a Joint Committee of both Houses.
