HC Deb 01 December 1966 vol 737 cc606-7
32. Sir W. Bromley-Davenport

asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs what was the cost to date to public funds of the publication of the wall newspaper, "Upswing".

Mr. Albu

£5,684 for the two issues already published.

Sir W. Bromley-Davenport

Should not this wall newspaper be called "Upswing for Socialist Party Propaganda"? Is it not unethical to use public money for this purpose?

Mr. Albu

I do not think that the hon. and gallant Gentleman would consider himself to be an expert in the arts of communication. Nevertheless, industry welcomes the attempt by Government to communicate to those who have to do a job in industry the problems which our country faces in the economic field.
