§ Mr. LloydWould the Minister agree with Professor Semple, Medical Officer of Health for Liverpool, that, however good official arrangements are, critical public opinion is important? Would he 1178 encourage local authorities to make this fact known to the public?
§ Mr. RobinsonAs the right hon. Gentleman knows, it is an offence to sell unfit food for human consumption, whatever the price may be. Local authorities have powers to seize or detain food for sale if they think it is unfit for human consumption. I certainly encourage them to act on those powers.
