§ 18. Mr. Allasonasked the Minister of Public Building and Works which of the sites of overseas contracts for which his Department is responsible he has visited or intends to visit.
§ Mr. C. PannellAfter completing a tour of all the Ministry's regions in this country, I shall be visiting Germany next month. I hope to visit other overseas regions later in the year in so far as the Parliamentary situation permits.
§ Mr. AllasonDoes the Minister realise that visits to sites overseas are a tremendous encouragement for the people working there, and is he satisfied with his performance as compared with that of his energetic predecessor?
§ Mr. PannellWith regard to the first part of the hon. Gentleman's supplementary question, I think that what is dimly apparent to him is blazing daylight-clear to me. With regard to the remainder of the supplementary question, I can only say that, probably, had the Parliamentary situation been under my predecessor as it is now, even he could not have been the most travelled Minister, as he undoubtedly was.
§ Mr. HamlingWould my right hon. Friend persuade the hon. Member for Hemel Hempstead (Mr. Allason) to pair with him?
§ Mr. PannellI would not swop my pair with him.
