§ 21. Mr. Tinnasked the Minister of Land and Natural Resources what steps he proposes to take to ensure the fullest use of North Yorkshire long-distance walk he recently approved.
§ Mr. WilleyThe Yorkshire Coast and North York Moors long-distance footpath, which I approved on 11th February, extends for 93 miles. Before the public can make full use of this route, it will be necessary to create new rights of way over 12 miles, and I have asked the appropriate rural district councils to negotiate these rights of way. My Ministry and the National Parks Commission will do everything possible to assist the councils in this work.
§ Mr. TinnAmongst other steps that my right hon. Friend proposes to take, will he consider the publication of a handbook and its circulation amongst the schools in the area?
§ Mr. WilleyThis matter is being considered by the National Parks Commission and ourselves, and I will be obliged to my hon. Friend for any suggestion he cares to make.
