HC Deb 04 March 1965 vol 707 c1502
9. Mr. Bellenger

asked the President of the Board of Trade what progress has been made by the inspectors appointed by him to investigate the affairs of Rolls Razor Limited.

Mr. Jay

The inspectors appointed by the Board of Trade to investigate the affairs of Rolls Razor Limited are making good progress, but I cannot say when their inquiries are likely to be completed.

Mr. Bellenger

While regretting that my right hon. Friend cannot give a more definite answer to that Question, may I ask whether he understands that efforts are being made in the City—or so I gather—for this late managing director to get further finance for other ventures into which he wants to enter? Should not investors know as quickly as possible what is the situation of the company which he used to control?

Mr. Jay

The sooner this report is available the more pleased I shall be. As at the moment it is sub judice, I think that I had better say no more now.

Sir C. Osborne

Has the right hon. Gentleman any idea whether the creditors or shareholders are likely to get anything at all from the winding up?

Mr. Jay

I should not like to say that in advance of seeing this report.
