§ 6. Mr. Benceasked the Minister of Labour how many young people below the age of 18 years are registered as unemployed in the Clydebank Employment Exchange.
§ Mr. GunterOn 12th July, 1965, 50 young persons were registered as unemployed in the Clydebank Youth Employment Office area.
§ Mr. BenceIs my right hon. Friend aware that it is causing grave concern in the area that we should have all these young people still unemployed and many of them unable to obtain apprenticeships? Would he do what he can to see that young men and women undergo suitable training courses so that we may augment the skilled labour force which we so badly need in Scotland?
§ Mr. GunterI would point out to my hon. Friend that, of the 50 I mentioned in my Answer, 19 have just left school and we do not anticipate a great deal of trouble in placing them.
